Step into a cosy, sunlit private studio in Serangoon Gardens and enjoy a savoury, aromatic cooking session with French Chef Eric! Master the art of making the perfect bistro-style French Onion Soup and bake your own crusty, golden baguettes from scratch. Indulge in a fresh tasting session afterwards, where you’ll learn the secrets behind deep, umami-rich caramelisation and the science of bread baking in Singapore’s climate. All in a relaxed, small-group atmosphere.
Join a 3-hour culinary journey held in a warm, home-style French studio. This intimate kitchen session lets you craft two pillars of French bistro culture, with Chef Eric guiding you closely throughout the experience.
The experience consists of:
• 2.5 hours of hands-on cooking and baking guided by Chef Eric. You’ll learn how to slice onions like a pro, master the “rinse and repeat” caramelisation method to achieve a deep mahogany colour, and mix (no kneading), shape, and bake authentic French baguettes using Eric’s unique step-by-step method.
• 30 minutes of relaxed tasting, where you’ll assemble your soup with a generous layer of melted Emmental cheese and enjoy it fresh with your oven-warm baguettes.
Throughout the session, Eric will share his savoir-faire on achieving a perfectly crispy crust even in high humidity, along with the specific herbs that give French onion soup its soul-satisfying complexity. The pace is beginner-friendly and perfect for families, with a maximum of 8 participants per session.
All ingredients, utensils, and aprons are provided. The magic continues at home, you’ll take home a portion of baguette dough and Chef Eric’s signature onion base so you can recreate the bistro experience in your own kitchen the very next day!
